Superfecta Sunday at Hawthorne

Closing out our horse racing weekend there is no place like home.  On this pleasant Sunday we look at a wonderful Allowance sprint on the fabulous Hawthorne Race Course dirt here in the Chicago area.

Hawthorne Race Course Race 8 {6 furlongs~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~IL~Allowance}
This race comes up with a very competitive field of nine long legged ladies.  All of taken the roughly sixty day break from Hawthorne only to return to the track of their last start.  Most have worked determinedly over the freshening and look ready to shoot out of the gate in this Illinois bred sprint.  It is a difficult task to stitch a winning 10 CENT Superfecta Box ticket, but let's make a great effort.

#1 Mystery Ridge / #1A Turtle Pie (Thornton / Reavis) both look capable of winning and judging by the works, either could find themself in the winners circle.  Mystery Ridge appears to have a tracking running style while Turtle Pie favors the speed/presser style.  Mystery Ridge has the third highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two stunning stamina inducing, peaking workouts.  Of the coupled entry let's hope she gets the go.  On the other hand Turtle Pie holds the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and three smart, peaking workouts.  With her speed she should be able to slink through to victory.

#6 Remembermealways (Riggs / Lunsford) has not been off the board in four races at this distance.  She shares the fourth highest last out speed number and has put in four fierce, peaking workouts.  This filly also holds the fourth highest speed number at the distance.  We toss a bronze horseshoe to her.
$2 SHOW.

#9 Cubs Thunder (Hamilton / Bruggermann) will have more punch than the Chicago Cubs this spring.  She holds the highest last out speed number at a half furlong longer distance, a two race progression and three stellar, peaking workouts.  This four year-old filly will be able to track the pacesetters and swoop down in the stretch.

#4 Tactics Rap (Emigh / Becker) will be making her fourth career start after the Hawthorne freshening.  She holds the highest speed number at the distance over the Hawthorne track.  This daughter of Cherokee Rap seems to be improving with each race and has put in two fantastic bullet workouts readying for her next outing.  She should be forwardly placed.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

#1 Mystery Ridge / #1A Turtle Pie  +  #6 Remembermealways  +  #9 Cub's Thunder  +  #4  Tactics Rap.
