Fair Grounds Thursday

Our horse racing weekend begins down in the "Big Easy".

Fair Grounds Race 6 {6 furlongs~4 year old Up~LA~Allowance}
A solid group of nine Louisiana breds will battle in this superb sprint.  There is enough speed to keep the pace honest, but not too much to give any running style a distinct advantage.  It should be a good race.

#3 The Louisiana Kid (Jacinto / Johnston) is coming off a freshening with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two tough workouts.  He should be able to track a decent pace and strike in the stretch.
$1 WIN / $1 SHOW.

#1 Over a Barrel (C. Hernandez / Breaux) appears ready for another strong performance with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two solid workouts.  He will be looking for a strong pace to demonstrate his closing kick.
$1 SHOW.

#4 Two Left Shoes (Mena / G. Scherer) could use a pressing running style to great advantage with the fourth highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three excellent workouts.  He will be coming off an extended layoff ready to roll.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 M Dication (B. Hernandez / Asmussen) holds the highest last out speed number over an off track.  He will clearly be in the mix with a fluid pressing run.  This guy holds a two race progression and has put in two wonderful, peaking workouts.  Could be the one to beat.

#2 Lil Nicholas (Graham / Deville) should be in contention with a couple of quality last out speed numbers, the fourth highest speed number at the distance, and one peaking workout.  This guy could surprise.

10 CENT Superfecta

#3 The Louisiana Kid / #1 Over a Barrel / #4 Two Left Shoes / #6 M Dication, #2 Lil Nicholas.

Bankroll plummets to $2.55.  We will supplement with an additional $14.00 for this horse racing weekend.
