Stakes Saturday FOY

A fantastic Stakes Saturday is in store.  On this weekend the battle for KD 139 spots ramps up a notch as the point system increases for this weekend's races.  Today we take a long look at the Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth in splendid South Florida.

Gulfstream Park Race 11 {Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth~G2~1 1/16 mile~3 year olds~Stakes}
An supremely talented field of eleven will make the start in this annual Derby prep race.  There is plenty of speed to keep the race strong.  There are four in here that are coming off a longer route which may be a key factor in the race.  Only one, Majestic Hussar, will be stretching out to this distance.  The vast majority of the entrants like to be forwardly placed which will set up nicely for a horse coming from off the pace.  This race stacks up as an immensely exciting one.

#3 Violence (Castellano / Pletcher) is coming off an approximate 60 day freshening which will enable him to start his 3 year old campaign fresh.  He shares the second highest last out speed number, holds a three race progression, has put in four sensational workouts, and remains undefeated.  He most assuredly will be the one to beat utilizing his careful tracking ability.
$1 WIN.

#4 Majestic Hussar (Saez / Kenneally) will be a big part of the speed in this race as he stretched out to a route.  He holds the highest last out speed number, has a two race progression, and has put in two superb workouts.  This son of Majestic Warrior appears ready to roll over a track he loves.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#6 Cerro [IRE] (Rocco / Motion) is capable of showing tactical speed which should be useful in this crowded field.  He holds the third highest last out speed number off a longer route, a three race progression, and one hearty workout. He could do well over a favored track.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#10 Falling Sky (Espinoza / Terranova ) can be expected to be forwardly placed angling for advantage from an outside post position.  He shares the second highest last out speed number, holds a three race progression, and has put in two diligent workouts.  He has a win over this track which adds to his appeal.

#8 Speak Logistics (Rosario / Plesa) is another that appears to have some tactical speed.  He has a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and two strong, peaking workouts.  This handsome colt also holds the second highest speed number at the distance.  A surprise could be in the offing.
