Feeling the Need for Turf

Thank goodness we have a Turfy Friday.  Today we examine a superb Turf race at glorious Gulfstream Park.

Gulfstream Park Race 9 {1 1/16 mile~TURF~4 year old Up~fillies/mares~Allowance}
A talented field of twelve will go to the grass in this allowance feature.  There appears to be enough speed in here to keep the pace strong.  Most in this field are making a start after either freshenings or extended layoffs.  It should be a hearty race.

#8 Debase the Dollar (Lezcano / Mott) appears to have a slight edge with the third highest last out speed number, the third highest speed number at the distance, a three race progression, and four superb workouts.  She should stay close to the leaders and get first strike on the field.
$1 WIN / $1 SHOW.

#6 Free as a Bird (Prado / Wilkes) will challenge with the highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and four positive workouts.  She should be able to track the pace fluidly and button it down in the stretch.
$1 PLACE / $1 SHOW.

#12 Weekend Magic (Leyva / Joiley) is coming off a two year layoff.  This stakes caliber mare holds the second highest speed number over a Turf surface.  She has put in five rugged, peaking workouts preparing for her return to the races.  Her tracking running style could benefit her when the speed heats up.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#4 Lady's Lunar Luck (A. Garcia / Kimmel) should be in the mix sharing the highest last out speed number and holding a two race progression.  This gal could track and close well.

#10 Cry War Eagle (Contreras / Lynch) could find herself in contention with the fourth highest last out speed number and three excellent peaking workouts.  She is another that could track the pace and explode in the stretch.

10 CENT Superfecta
