2014 Breeder's Cup Championships Begin Today

One of the best horse racing weekends unfolds as day one of the 2014 Breeder's Cup Championships. On this Friday we take a look at a long route as part of a fantastic undercard at beautiful Santa Anita.

Santa Anita Race 2 {Las Vegas Marathon~G2~1 3/4 mile~3 year old Up~Graded Stakes}
A great field of nine will tackle this long distance endurance race.  There is enough speed to make it a very interesting race. Only two have gone this distance and both cruised over Turf. It should be a fabulous wagering event.

#5 Big Cazanova [ARG] (Nakatani / Miller) might have a minuscule edge with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and four endurance producing workouts. This lad comes into this one fresh off a brief layoff. He should be forwardly placed ready to romp.
$2 SHOW.

#7 Sky Kingdom (Espinoza / Baffert) should challenge with a couple of o.k. last out speed numbers and four superb peaking workouts. He holds the highest speed number over the Santa Anita track. This guy should be forwardly placed seeking an opening into the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#3 Irish Surf (Trujillo / Hendricks) will contend with a couple of good last out speed numbers and four stamina producing workouts. This guy holds the highest speed number over a dirt surface. He appears to sitting on a great performance particularly if a strong pace develops.

#9 Cary Street (Mena / Walsh) should be in the mix with a couple of excellent last out speed numbers and two stout workouts. He holds a solid in the money record of 66% from eighteen starts. This guy should track and close into a contested pace.
