Derby Preps Away on Stakes Saturday

On this Stakes Saturday, we take a look at a grand stakes race in Northern California.

Golden Gate Fields Race 7 {El Camino Real Derby~G3~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Stakes}
A great group of ten will check in for the start of this feature stakes race. This one has Kentucky Derby points at stake. The field appears equally matched in terms of speed numbers and capability. There is enough speed to keep a constant pace. It should be an exciting race any of these fellas could pull off the victory.

#5 Cross the Line (J. Hernandez / Hollendorfer) could pull this one off with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a four race progression, and four stellar, peaking workouts. This son of Line of David has the tactical speed to either be forwardly placed or just sit off the pace. In his short career of four races he is 100% in the money.
$2 WIN.  $3 SHOW.

#9 Conquest Typhoon (Smith / Casse) should give chase, sharing that third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three superlative workouts. He is another with solid tactical speed. This son of Stormy Atlantic will be stretching out to this distance. He has already proven himself over the Tapeta surface.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#8 Stand and Salute (R. Baze / Hollendorfer) should challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three robust workouts. He is 100% in the money at Golden Gate from three starts. This son of Saint Anddan should track the field ready to strike in the stretch.

#2 Indianaughty (Lanerie / Romans) should contend with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three hearty workouts. He will be stretching out to this distance for this race. This son of Indian Charlie sports some good efforts over the synthetics across the pond. He could be forwardly placed.
