Off to the Iowa Prairie for Furlong Friday.

A short field of six will enter the gate in this annual sprint championship. There is plenty of speedsters to insure a sizzling pace. Speed numbers are relatively close with two horses showing triple digit marks. It should be a terrific race.

#1 Bobcat Jim (Laviolette / Smith) could have the edge with the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two hearty workouts. This lad posted that speed number over the Prairie Meadows track maintaining his 100% in the money record over it. He will be seeking his third win in a row utilizing his versatile running style.

#6 Delaunay (Vazquez / Amoss) should challenge with the highest speed number at the distance, the second highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and three tidy workouts. This guy is also 100% in the money at Prairie Meadows all the while securing the highest speed number at same.

#3 Patty's Key (Corbett / Keller) is in good form and should contend. This fella has a couple of decent last out speed numbers and has put in three excellent workouts. He should be tracking the very speedy pace ready to strike in the stretch.

#2 Bruwer Max (Thompson / Martin) is another in good form and will be in the hunt. He shares the highest last out speed number and has cobbled together a two race progression. This guy should be forwardly placed, ready to move smoothly over the track.
