Superfecta Sunday on Jersey Turf

Congratulations to the connections of freshly minted Triple Crown Winner, American Pharoah!!  It was an exceptional run.

On this Superfecta Sunday we venture to that amazing place by the Jersey Shore, Monmouth Park, to take in a competitive Turf race.

Monmouth Park Race11 {Monmouth Stakes~G2~1 1/8 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~Graded Stakes}

A great group of nine Turfers will make the start in this annual Turf feature. There is enough speed in here to keep the pace humming along the Jersey shore. This is a closely matched group in which any one of these fellas could emerge the victor. The task at hand is to string together a winning 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.

#5 Churair (Rosario / C. Brown) is coming off an extended layoff, but appears primed to make this a good outing in his first race of 2015. He holds the second highest speed number at the distance with a 66% in the money record at same. This lad has put in four superb workouts in preparation. Additionally, he holds the highest speed number of the group over the Monmouth Turf. Look for him to track the pace and swoop into the stretch.

#4 Middleburg (Bravo / Clement) will challenge with a couple of good last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and two stout workouts. This guy will make his first run over the Monmouth Turf in his third effort of his form cycle. He is an incredible 92% in the money from thirteen career starts. Our Bronze Horseshoe selection.
$2 SHOW.

#10 Cage Fighter (Centeno / Lawrence) should contend with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three sharp peaking workouts. This will be his first effort at this distance. He seems to be in great form and will be tracking the pace ready to strike.

#1 Triple Threat [FR] (Lezcano / Mott) is another coming off an extended layoff, making his first North American start. He raced well in France and Great Britain before shipping over. This lad was last seen at Longchamp in France running second in a longer Turf handicap race. He has put in three hearty peaking workouts for this American turf start.
