Furlong Friday at Arlington

On the eve of the Arlington Million, we take a look at a neat TURF sprint for maidens.

Arlington International Race 8 {5 furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~fillies/mares~Maiden Claiming}

A interesting group of nine will take to the green in the last race on today's Arlington card. Speed numbers are relatively close and there is enough speed and forwardly placed types to keep a solid pace. In total, these gals have had eighty chances to capture their maiden. Consequently, we will go with the first time starter which should have profitable odds.

#9 War Pass (Esquivel / Kirby) is the only first time starter in the race. She is well prepped with four superb peaking workouts. The Jockey / Trainer stats rank among the best in this field. She should race valiantly against this field.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW.

#8 Seven Zip (Roman / Johns) will challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and one peaking workout. The progeny of City Zip are always a welcome wager in sprint contests. This lass has the second highest speed number at the distance which adds to her appeal.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 Nelvyn's Flyer (Homeister / DiVito) has the best stats of the group. She holds the second highest last out speed number and has put in one hearty workout. This gal holds the highest speed number at the distance with a 75% in the money record at same. But she hasn't won in eighteen starts. She will be the favorite.

#4 La Activa (Wright / Darjean) is making her seventh try in an attempt to secure her maiden. Her last two were decent and she will be dropping in class to hit the objective. She has put in two stellar workouts prepping. This gal will take up a tracking position seeking to surge into the stretch.
