Horse Racing Weekend Begins at the "Spa"

We roll into another Horse Racing Weekend with an eye towards the Summer Derby, The Travers. Today we take a look at a Turf sprint at the "Spa".

Saratoga Race 7 (5 1/2 furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~fillies/mares~Claiming}

A great group of nine gals will hit the turf in this claiming race. The majority of the field like to be forwardly placed which should ensure a quick pace. Speed numbers are fairly close making for a competitive event. I should be a nice Turf race.

#2 Cool Comfort (R. Hernandez / Ward) should have the edge with fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and two superb workouts. This lass holds the highest speed number over the Saratoga Turf. She should be on or near the lead.
$1 WIN  /  $2 SHOW.

#6 Songbook ( I. Ortiz / Clement) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two primo peaking workouts. She should be one of the forwardly placed types seeking to strike in the stretch. This gal has already notched a win at this distance earning her the highest speed number at same.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#4 Rachel's Temper (Rosario / Cannizzo) could be sitting on a strong performance with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and two terrific workouts. She holds the second highest speed number at this distance. Look for her to track and close fiercely particularly if the pace heats up.

#9 Dot Product (Franco / J. Englehart) should contend with the third highest last out speed number at a longer sprint and one peaking workouts. This gal is 100% in the money over the Turf and will be tackling this distance for the first time. She should be part of the forwardly placed huddle.
