Stakes Saturday at the Jersey Shore

We look in on a very contentious dirt route along the Jersey shore on this Stakes Saturday.

Monmouth Park Race 11 {Monmouth Oaks~G3~1 1/16 mile~3 year-old~fillies~Graded Stakes}

A highly talented field of eleven fillies trot to the gate in this annual affair. Some of the most successful conditioners in the country have brought their charges in for this significant race. There is plenty of speed and forwardly placed types to keep a fluid pace.  Speed numbers are super close making this one a highly competitive event. Most are coming in for this one as only three have covered the Monmouth ground. It should be a great race.

#8 Light the City (McCarthy / McLaughlin) has a slight edge having already scored a victory over the Monmouth track.  She holds the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two strong workouts. This gal can be expected to be forwardly placed ready to strike.  A daughter of Street Sense, she has hit the board 66% of the time from nine starts.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#4 Delightful Joy (P. Lopez / C. Brown) will challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four stout workouts. This lass will be stretching out for this one. As a daughter of Tapit, she should have no trouble grabbing it. Expect her to track the pace closely and spring into the stretch.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#2 Curlish Figure (K. Coa  /  Proctor) should take another step forward as she has secured two victories in a row. She holds a couple of decent last out speed numbers from those wins, is working a tree race progression, and has put in three hearty workouts. As a daughter of Curlin she will sport a tracking/closing running style.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Eskenformoney (Bravo / Pletcher) should be in the thick of it with the second highest speed number at the distance. A daughter of Eskendreya, she should take up a tracking position. This gal has put in three solid workouts prepping for this race. She has, arguably, the top connections behind her for this race.

#11 High Dollar Women (Rocco / Hobby) comes into this race off a victory in the Indiana Oaks at Indiana Grand. She holds the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two stellar workouts. A daughter of Kentucky Derby winner, Super Saver, she should be forwardly placed seeking to pull away from the field.
