Stakes Saturday in Pennsylvania

A beautiful Stakes Saturday across the country. Today we take a look at a graded one at good old Parx.

PARX Race 10 {Pennsylvania Derby~G2~1 1/8 mile~3 year old~Graded Stakes}

A talented field of nine will enter the gate in this annual Derby.  There is a fair amount of speed to keep an honest pace. Speed numbers are comparable.  There are three millionaires in this field which makes it a significant event. A great race should unfold.

#3 Frosted (Rosario / McLaughlin) should be in the drivers seat for the win. He holds the highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and two superb peaking workouts. This distance is right in his wheel house having secured a 100% in the money record from three tries. This son of Tapit should travel close to the pace and then launch into the stretch.
$2 WIN.

#9 Upstart (I. Ortiz / Violette) should be the main challenger with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route, a three race progression, and two tremendous workouts. He too is 100% in the money at this distance. This son of Flatter should track the pace ready to strike in the stretch.
$2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#1 War Story (Parker / Radosevich) could be sitting on a strong effort with a couple of very good last out speed numbers, an eight race progression, and one stellar bullet workout. He is yet another with a 100% in the money record at this distance. A son of Northern Afleet, he will be closing gallantly in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#5 Madefromlucky (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) should contend with a couple of great last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and four hearty peaking workouts. This guy holds three wins from four starts at this distance. This son of Lookin at Lucky can be expected to track the pace and swoop into the stretch.

10 CENT Superfecta

#3 Frosted  /  #9 Upstart  /  #1 War Story  /  #5 Madefromlucky.
