Horse Racing Weekend Begins in San Diego

Our horse racing weekend begins in sunny Southern California, as they say in San Diego, where the "Turf meets the Surf".

Del Mar Race 7 {5 furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~CA~Optional Claiming}

An interesting group of nine will hit the Turf in this sprint feature. There is plenty of speed lined up to contribute to a frothy pace. Speed numbers are relatively close making for a very competitive event.

#3 Global Magician (Espinoza / P. Miller) should take up a position close to the pace with the highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer sprint distance and two solid peaking workouts. This lad has landed in the money 72% of the time from eleven starts. He should be well prepped to handle this group.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#8 Law Dog (Desormeaux / Hess) shares the highest last out speed number, is working a two race progression, and has put in three robust workouts. This guy can be considered a distance specialist and a lover of the Del Mar Turf. With a strong pace, he could benefit greatly with his tracking and closing running style.

#2 Burnaroundtheedges (Talamo / Black) has been on vacation for over a year, but looks ready to jump into the fray. This will be his second career start after winning at first asking. He has put in a mighty five peaking workouts in full preparation for his comeback effort. A hot pace will be to this closers advantage.

#7 Lambo Luxx (Pedroza / Carava) should challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and one hearty workout. This lad should be forwardly placed seeking an opening to spurt through. A game stretch-out seems to be in the works here.

10 CENT Superfecta
