Downhill Turf to Start our Horse Racing Weekend

We look to the San Gabriel Mountains to start our horse racing weekend.

Santa Anita Park Race 5 {6 1/2 furlongs~downhill TURF~3 year-old Up~Optional Claiming}

A solid group of eight will sprint down the Santa Anita Turf hill course. The race comes up a little light on speed, but there are a few in here that could be forwardly placed to drive the pace. Speed numbers are fairly close. A good number in here are exited graded stakes races. It should be a highly competitive event.

#2 No Silent (Bejarano / Mandella) might have the edge with the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and four robust workouts. He should be tooling close to the pace ready to strike going into the stretch. He holds impressive in the money records overall, on the Turf, at the distance, and over the Santa Anita course.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#4 Cape Wolfe [GB] (Smith / D'Amato) will challenge with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four strong peaking workouts. This guy holds the highest speed number at the distance as well as being 100% in the money  at same. He should be tracking the pace.

#5 Hunt [IRE] (Prat / D'Amato) should contend with the third highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and four hearty peaking workouts. He holds the highest overall in the money record of the group at 71%. He should track and close nicely.

#8 Spirit Rules (Puglisi / Aguirre) will certainly be in the mix as the probable pace setter. He holds the third highest speed number at the distance, has a couple of very good last out speed numbers and four dynamite peaking workouts.
