Stakes Saturday on the TURF

We start our Horse Racing Weekend on Stakes Saturday with a fine Turf race.

Arlington International Race 7 {Arlington Classic~G3~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A great group of eleven will take to the Arlington Turf in this annual event. There is sufficient speed to create a healthy pace. Speed numbers are all close enough to make a very competitive race. Interestingly, there are four Triple Crown nominees making an appearance in this race. They should have an impact. It should be an exciting race.

#4 Surgical Strike (Graham / Colebrook) should be the prohibitive favorite with the highest last out speed number and a five race progression. This lad appears to be in fine form and holds the highest speed number at the distance. A son of Red Giant, he should track and close vigorously.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW.

#1 Two Step Time (Torres / Maker) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number, a six race progression, and two robust peaking workouts. This guy holds the second highest speed number at the distance. A son of Two Step Salsa, he should also be tracking and closing gallantly in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#12 Tequila Joe (Valdivia / Stidham) could also challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two strong workouts. He has scored two victories from four starts. This son of Stormy Atlantic is yet another that will track and close swiftly.
$2 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#8 Call the Colonel (Emigh / Cowen) looks to make another step forward as he makes the surface switch from dirt to Turf. He holds the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two sharp peaking workouts. This son of Colonel John should also track the pace, though perhaps a bit more closely, then strike in the stretch.

#4 Surgical Strike  /  #1 Two Step Time  /  #12 Tequila Joe  /  #8 Call the Colonel.
