Coast to Coast Stakes Saturday

For the first Stakes Saturday of the year we take a look at a couple of graded ones on each of America's great coasts.

Aqueduct Race 8 {Jerome~G2~1 mile 70 yards~3 year olds~Stakes}
A fine field of eight Kentucky Derby aspirants will gallop out for the start in this annual race.  There is no evidence of any speedsters, but half the field likes to be forwardly placed.  It may be one of the pressers that leads the group to the finish.

#2 Vyjack (C. Velasquez / Rodriguez) looks to move up in distance with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one solid workout.  He could be the presser that leads the pack to the wire.  He will be making his third career start after two victories.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#1 Siete de Oros (Arroyo / Preciado) will surprise with the third highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two stout workouts.  This guy will come a closing into a fluid pace.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#3 Long River (Ortiz / McLaughlin) should present a strong challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and two superb workouts.  He should be forwardly placed waiting to strike in the stretch run.

#5 Notacatbutallama (Dominguez / Pletcher) is another well prepared with a couple of strong last out speed numbers and two robust workouts.  He should track the pace and explode through the stretch.

10 CENT Superfecta

#2 Vyjack / #3 Long River / #1 Siete de Oros, #5 Notacatbutallama / #1, #5.

Santa Anita Park Race 7 {San Pasqual~G2~1 1/16 mile~4 year olds Up~Stakes}
A small, but talented field of six will make the start in this annual stakes race.  Speedsters and pressers seem to have filled this race.  It should be an exciting route.

#6 Coil (M. Garcia / Baffert) has the edge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three sensational workouts.  This guy loves the Santa Anita ground and will use it to his advantage.  Expect him to mount a pressing attack.
$2 WIN / $3 SHOW.

#5 John Scott (Espinoza / Gaines) could surprise with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and four excellent workouts.  He has supreme tactical speed to deploy and sports the third highest speed number at the distance.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#4 Ultimate Eagle (Pedroza / Pender) should be in the hunt with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and three swift workouts.  He should be the speed of the race that holds on for a piece of the purse pie.

#1 Jaycito (Leparoux / Baffert) looks well enough to win with the second highest last out speed number at this very distance, a two race progression, and two hardy workouts.  He could track the pace enjoying the run on a track he relishes.

10 CENT Superfecta

#6 Coil / #5 John Scott / #4 Ultimate Eagle / #1 Jaycito.
