Horse Racing Weekend Begins at Santa Anita

To start our horse racing weekend we take on a mile at beautiful Santa Anita.

Santa Anita Race 7 {1 mile~4 year old up~Optional Claiming}
An interesting group of eight will go to the gate in this feature race.  There is a fair amount of speed which should make a strong pace.  It should be an exciting race.

#3 Kate's Event (Nakatani / Hollendorfer) could be the big surprise particularly it the pace is heated.  He shows the second highest last out speed number at a sprint, a two race progression, and two solid peaking workouts.  He could close well on this talented field.
$2 SHOW.

#4 Gladding (Gryder / Mitchell) should be a strong contender with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two superb workouts.  This guy is 100% in the money in five races at this distance which adds to his luster.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#1 Sky Kingdom (M. Garcia / Baffert) should be in the mix with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and a two race progression prior to an extended layoff.  His four exceptional workouts in the last thirty days demonstrate he is ready to fire.  Expect him to be close to the pace ready to strike in the stretch.

#5 Java Man (Leparoux / Sadler) looks ready to step forward with the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and four sensational workouts that include a couple of bullets.  A strong pace will allow this tracker to score.
