Friday Turf Sprint

We make another attempt at a beautiful TURF sprint, this time in South Florida.  Our handicapping effort yesterday (Thursday) was washed out.  The weather appears to be warm and sunny for today's effort.

Gulfstream Park Race 7 {5 furlongs~TURF~3 year old~fillies~Optional Claiming}
A closely matched field of ten will go to the grass for this Turf sprint.  This will be a tough one to handicap as it is speed laden with all these gals showing a forwardly placed running style.

#2 Devil's Cave (J. Velazquez / C. Brown) will be making her third career start with an eye towards further improvement.  She has a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and two robust workouts.  Her pressing style could be of great benefit in this race.

#1 Heiressofthecrown (Lopez / Procino) looks promising with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one stout workout.  She should show a pressing/tracking style that will help running down tiring speedsters.
$1 PLACE / $1 SHOW.

#6 Rosie Red (Trujillo / Plesa) could be one of the speedsters to hold on with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one sufficient workout.  She also holds the second highest speed number at the distance.

#10 The Royal Boot (Rocco / Vivian) is another speedster that could hold on for a piece with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two hearty workouts.  She sports the highest speed number at the distance.

#9 Phyllis Ann (Nunez / Vivian) looks primed to do well with the fourth highest (tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and four solid, peaking workouts.  Expect her to be forwardly placed ready to make her move.
