On the Derby Trail at Fair Grounds

Another wonderful Stakes Saturday and we peer at a race featuring Kentucky Derby aspirants seeking a chance to accumulate a few points towards entry to the big dance.

Fair Grounds Race 10 {LeComte~G3~1 mile 70 yards~3 year olds~Stakes}
What a splendid group of nine.  It looks like a nicely balanced race of forwardly placed and those that like to come from off the pace.  Any of these young colts could win the race.

#2 Heitai (Eramia / Breaux) might be able to press himself into the winners circle with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three strong peaking workouts.  This son of Fusaichi Pegasus should be able to step forward having already been 100% in the money over six career starts.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#7 Golden Soul (B. Hernandez / Stewart) should challenge with his tactical speed having earned a couple of decent last out speed numbers, sporting a two race progression, and putting in two sound, peaking workouts.  He is making his third career start which should add to his appeal.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#6 Avie's Quality (Napravnik / J. Carroll) should be the favorite with the highest last out speed number which also serves as the highest speed number at this distance.  He is three for three at the distance and is showing a three race progression.  Having put in a high quality workout tab of four stout peaking works, this guy could track his way to the winners circle.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#3 Fear the Kitten (Bridgmohan / Maker) should be in the hunt with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, the fourth highest speed number at the distance, and four fearsome workouts. This son of Kitten's Joy could stay in contact and then close mightily.

#4 Oxbow (Court / Lukas) could surprise as the speedster on the front end.  He sports a couple of decent last out speed numbers that fit well with this group and has put in three dynamic, peaking workouts.  If let loose on the lead, victory could be his.

10 CENT Superfecta

#2 Hetai / #7 Golden Soul / #6 Avie's Quality / #3 Fear the Kitten, #4 Oxbow.
