Stakes Saturday at Belmont

We journey to Belmont on this Stakes Saturday for a little Turf.

Belmont Park Race 8 {Hill Prince~G3~1 mile~TURF~3 year old~Stakes}
An intriguing field of twelve will take to the grass in this graded stakes feature.  There is an awful lot of speed in this one which could allow those coming from off the pace a great advantage.  Most in here are coming off either freshenings or layoffs.  It will be a tremendously contentious race.

#7 Michael With Us (G. Saez / DiMauro) looks to have a very slight edge with the highest last out speed number at a longer route, a three race progression, and two solid workouts.  This son of Bluegrass Cat is shipping in to compete with this group and holds the highest speed number over the surface.  He should be tracking the pace angling to close them down.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#11 Shining Copper (Solis / Aboughazale) should challenge with the second highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and two hearty workouts.  This son of Aaragon [IRE] has a versatile running style that should put him into the thick of things.  He holds the highest speed number at the distance.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#9 Red Rifle (Castellano / Pletcher) will contend with the third highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and four conscientious workouts.  He is going to the TURF for the first time, but should handle it well as a son of Giant's Causeway.  Expect him to be forwardly placed biding his time.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#1 Sayaad (J. Espinoza / McLaughlin) could be in the mix sharing the second highest last out speed number prior to a short layoff.  He was working a three race progression and has put in two robust workouts.  This son of the great Street Sense has already posted a win over the Belmont Turf.

#8 Red Rocker [IRE] (Cohen / Meehan) should be in the hunt making his second career start after landing in the money in a stakes race across the pond in Great Britain.  A son of Redback [GB], he is bred for the grass.  Most Euros do well in the states against Turfers here, as the competition in Europe is much fiercer.  Trained by World Class Trainer, Brian Meehan, it is hard to leave this guy out.

#5 Chamois (Alvarado / Clement) looks to improve after posting a couple of decent last out speed numbers.  He is coming off a longer route carrying a two race progression and putting in three superb peaking workouts.  His versatile running style will serve him well in this competitive Turf mile.  A son of Smart Strike, he enjoys seriously good connections.

10 CENT Superfecta
We will be using a "coverall" strategy with the Euro invader, placing him in each of the superfecta positions.

#7 Michael With Us, #8 Red Rocker [IRE] / #11 Shining Copper, #8 / #9 Red Rifle, #8 / #1 Sayaad, #5 Chamois, #8.
