Stakes Saturday Turf

They say Virginia is for Horse Lovers.  On this Stakes Saturday, we take a look at beautiful Colonial Downs.

Colonial Downs Race 7 {Colonial Turf Cup~G2~1 3/16 mile~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A superb quality field of eight will take to the grass.  In this closely competitive race, any on of these Turf warriors could come away with the victory.  All have near equal speed numbers over the surface.  There is plenty of speed in here coupled with the forwardly placed to keep the pace strong.  It should be a very exciting graded stakes race.

#6 Air Support (Castellano / McGaughey) looks to have the edge with the highest speed number at the distance along with a 100% in the money record at the same.  He has put in four hearty workouts during a short freshening.  This lad has a versatile running style which should suit him well.
$2 WIN / $3 SHOW.

#2 Hyper (Lezcano / Brown) will challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer Turf route, a five race progression, and four excellent workouts.  This guy comes ready to crash the speed party up front with a resounding closing kick.
$2 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#1 Atigun (Leparoux / McPeek) should challenge with the highest last out speed number at a longer Turf route, a three race progression, and two diligent workouts.  Expect him to stay close to the pace tracking the leaders.  It could be possible for him to smoke this competition.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#5 Swift Warrior (J. Espinoza / Terranova) should be forwardly placed and if a controlled pace develops, he could take advantage of it.  He holds the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three robust workouts.

#7 General Logan (Prado / Motion) could surprise with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and two hardy workouts.  He has garnered a 66% win rate in six career starts.  This guy should be forwardly placed ready to make a move.
