Stakes Saturday at Aqueduct

Today we take a peek at a nice Turf battle over a classic distance.

Aqueduct Race 8 {Long Island Handicap~G3~1 1/2 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Stakes}
A fine field of eight gals will go to the grass in this annual contest.  There is little speed, but two in here can be forwardly placed and may gather up the victory.  The speed figures for all are fairly close.  It should be a very exciting race particularly when these ladies quicken for home.

#3 Aigue Marine [GB] (I. Ortiz / Clement) might have a couple of competitive last out speed numbers, a terrific racing post rating at this distance, and three superb peaking workouts.  She could be forwardly placed and control the pace.  This gal will be firing fresh off an extended layoff.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#2 Anjaz (Castellano / Albertrani) will challenge with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and five stout workouts.  She can make this distance and should be close to whatever pace may develop.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#5 Left a Message (Solis / Proctor) should be in the hunt with the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three diligent workouts.  She should be tracking the pace.  This gal has acquitted herself well over this distance in two tries.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Strathnaver [GB] (Maragh / Motion) could contend with the highest last out speed number, the highest Beyer at the distance, a two race progression, and four robust workouts.  She should be tracking the pace ready to launch into the stretch.

#7 White Rose (J. Ortiz / Mott) could be in the mix in her first start at this distance.  She holds the fourth highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and four serious workouts.  Should she get some pace up front, she will be closing hard.

10 CENT Superfecta

#3 Aigue Marine [GB] / #2 Anjaz / #5 Left a Message / #6 Strathnaver [GB], #7 White Rose.
