Friday Turf at Santa Anita

We take a peek at a tough Turf race in sunny Southern California.

Santa Anita Race 4 {1 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Claiming}
An equally matched group of eight ladies will strut onto the grass in a race which is part of a serious pick six carryover.  There is parity among this group.  It comes up with some speed and a few that are capable of being forwardly placed.  Any of these fine ladies can come out of this one victoriously.  It should be a handicapping challenge.

#4 Gelila (E. Flores / Deleon) might emerge as the one with the tools to get the job done.  She holds the second highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression and two solid workouts.  This gal is coming off an extended layoff, but has run decently off earlier layoffs.  She will be closing swiftly into a strong pace.
$2 SHOW.

#6 Belonging (Green / Papapodromou) should challenge with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, the third highest speed number at the distance, and two hearty workouts.  She has a versatile running style that fits nicely in this herd.  This gal has performed the best at the distance and over the Santa Anita turf.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#1 New Nature (Pereira / Avila) could hold significant sway as one who has won off of the front end.  This will be her first Turf start coming off a couple of decent last out speed numbers and showing one superb workout.  She holds the highest in the money record at 72% from seven starts.

#7 Clearly Annointed (Quinonez / Capestro) should be in the mix with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two fine peaking workouts.  She can be forwardly placed for a strong effort.
