Saturday Stakes, Classic Turf

On this Stakes Saturday we take on a competitive Turf race from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.

Arlington Park Race10 {Arlington Classic~G3~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year old~Stakes}
An equally matched group of eight will venture onto the grass in this annual stakes race.  There are a couple of speedsters and one that is capable of pressing.  If they can tamp down on the pace, victory could be in their sight.  The balance of the crew like to come from off the pace. It should be a very competitive Turf battle.

#8 Afortable (Leparoux / Block) could benefit from a grueling pace.  He holds the highest last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and two robust workouts.  This son of Fort Prado is coming into the race fresh off thirty day rest.  He is one of two that has posted a victory over the Arlington green.
$2 WIN / $3 PLACE / $4 SHOW.

#7 Istanford (Graham / Stidham) should be part lead battle with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and two hearty workouts. This daughter of Istan is another with a win over the Arlington Turf.  She has shown the ability to set the pace and clear the field in the stretch.
$2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#5 Ry's the Man (Geroux / Pessin) will be stretching out in distance for the first time with the second highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and two superb peaking workouts.  This son of Officer should be able to track the pace and launch into the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#4 Long On Value (Hernandez / Mott) should contend sharing the third highest last out speed number, working a two race progression, and putting in two solid workouts.  He is a son of Value Plus and has gone this distance once before.  Look for him to track the pace looking to strike going into the stretch.

#1 Solitary Ranger (Hill / Catalano) could be in the hunt as one of the pace setters.  He holds the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two hardy, peaking workouts.  This son of U.S. Ranger has the speed to wire the field.
