Furlong Friday at Belmont

It's Furlong Friday. Cubbies play St. Louis in the playoffs. Life is good.

Belmont Park Race 4 {6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~NY~Maiden Claiming}

After a couple of scratches, eight will go to the gate in this sprint. There is some speed and forwardly placed types which should allow these lads the run of the race. Speed numbers are fairly close which should make for a reasonably competitive event. It should be one of many good races on the Belmont card.

#8 Spartan Emperor (Rosario / Falcone) will be making his third career start with the third highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and one stout workout. This lad has the capability to take the lead and not look back. He should take another step forward.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#3 My Tommy Boy (C Velasquez / Klesaris) looks to break his maiden in his sixth start with the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer sprint and one peaking workouts. He should be forwardly placed ready to romp.

#7 Stone Crab (Arroyo / Reynolds) should challenge with the highest last out speed number at a slightly longer sprint and two hearty workouts. This guy holds the second highest speed number at the distance. He should close swiftly with the right pace.

#9 Bad to the Roan (T. Rice / Matties) could surprise sharing the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one solid workout. This lad could be forwardly placed ready to strike.
