Horse Racing Weekend Begins in California

We begin our horse racing weekend in splendid Southern California.

Santa Anita Park Race 7 {1 mile~TURF~3 year-old Up~CA~Optional Claiming}

A good group of nine will take to the Turf in this feature race. It comes up a little light on speed and the speed numbers are really close. It should be a significant battle coming around the turn.

#2 It Is Living Water (Espinoza / Miller) is dropping in class for this one. He holds the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four superb workouts. This lad is 64% in the money from fourteen career starts representing the only one in the field that is above the Key Performance indicator of fifty percent. He should take up a close tracking position ready to spurt through to the wire.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#9 Durango Flyer (Gutierrez / Eurton) will challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and four fierce peaking workouts. This guy is also dropping in class in an attempt to garner his second career win. He should be closing hard with the proper pace up front.

#10 What a View (Desormeaux / Black) should contend with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two stout workouts. He too is dropping in class for this event. Having shown speed in the past, he could be sent seeking to wire this field.

#8 Luckbox Sam (Valdez / Avilla) could be in the mix with the second highest last out speed number at a longer route, a three race progression, and one solid workout. This salty veteran has the second highest amount of victories of this group. posting four. He should be forwardly placed ready to dart into the stretch.
