Horse Racing Weekend begins in North Jersey

We start our horse racing weekend with a nice Turf sprint in Northern New Jersey. As horseplayers we sometimes get mired in a slump. To shake things up it is often worthwhile to have a change of venue to lift the game. Consequently, we go to Meadowlands for some strong and Turfy horse racing excitement.

Meadowlands Race Track Race 1 {5 furlongs~TURF~3 year-old Up~fillies/mares~Beaten Claiming}

A fantastic October Turf meet opens today at the Meadowlands. This race has much speed signed on which could produce a sizzling start to the meet. The majority in here our coming up from Monmouth Park with the balance from Delaware, Belmont, and Parx. Speed numbers are fairly close which should make for a competitive event.

#4 On a Star (Pennington / Aristone) comes into this one with a brief freshening. She holds the second highest (tie) speed number at the distance, the highest (tie) last out speed number and three outstanding workouts. This gal should go off as one of the favorites. He overall in the money record stands at 54%. Expect her to be forwardly placed ready to roll.
$1 WIN  /  $2 SHOW.

#8 Anna May Our Queen (Gudiel / Plesa) should challenge with the highest speed number at the distance coupled with a 100% in the money record at same. She has a couple of decent last out speed numbers along with a good workout. This gal is another that will join the forwardly placed herd.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Krista's Persona (Navarro / Aro) could be the controlling speed with the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer sprint and two fine workouts. She shares the second highest speed number at the distance along with a 66% in the money record at same from three starts. This gal is coming down from Belmont Park.

#3 Heir to Glory (Ayuso / Einhorn) should be close to the pace sharing the highest last out speed number and working a three race progression. She has hit the board both times that she has raced this distance. This gal could benefit from an overheated pace by striking in the stretch.
