Thank goodness it is Furlong Friday. Today we look at a nice sprint down in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Oaklawn Park Race 1 {6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~AR~Claiming}

A good crew of eight will go to the gate in the first race on the card. There is a plethora of speed to induce a heated pace. Speed numbers are relatively close. All but one of these lads are making a class drop into this race. It should be a fine sprint in good ol' Hot Springs.

#8 Our Doc Tanner (Vazquez / Cates) might have the edge with the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two stout workouts. This guy loves the distance as well as the track having gone 100% in the money for both. He should be forwardly placed ready to make a winning move.

#5 Arrogant (De La Cruz / Martin) will challenge with the highest (tie) last out speed number, a two race progression, and three superb peaking workouts. This guy has the tactical speed to slip right into the pace and strike going into the stretch. He is another that relishes the distance and the Oaklawn track.

#7 Port of Storms (Ocampo / Kardoush) should contend sharing the highest last out speed number at a longer route, working a three race progression, and putting in two strong peaking workouts. He comes into this after a layoff so should fire fresh. This guy is another that has tactical speed.

#2 Deputyartee (Laviolette / Creighton) should be in the game with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and one robust workout. This lad is 58% in the money at the distance. He could benefit from a hot pace tracking nicely, ready to spring.
