Horse Racing Weekend begins in California

On this Thursday, we begin our horse racing weekend in Arcadia, California.

Santa Anita Park Race 7 {1 1/4 mile~TURF~4 year-old Up~Optional Claiming}

A very nice field of eight will go to the green in this afternoon feature. There is virtually no speed with only a few that might take the pace by default. Speed numbers are fairly close with a few that will be stretching out to this distance for the first time. It should be a real handicapping challenge.

#8 Awesome Return (Talamo / Puype) should be ready to make an improvement with the highest speed number at the distance and three superior peaking workouts. This lad enjoys the surface and loves the Santa Anita course. He should be tracking the pace ready to strike going into the stretch.
$2 WIN  /  $3 SHOW

Other Wagering Interests

#4 China Girl Lover (Van Dyke / Hendricks) will challenge with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and one solid workout. This guy has done well at the distance and over the Santa Anita course. With the right amount of pace he should be closing swiftly.

#2 Street Fashion (Prat / Motion) should take another step forward as he stretches out to this distance. He scored a couple of good last out speed numbers while hitting the board in both races. This guy has put in a strong workout in preparation. He is another that will be tracking the pace.

#7 Tattenham (Bejarano / Jacobson) should contend with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four dynamite workouts. This lad is coming out of a longer route and could be forwardly placed seeking to score the victory.
