Stakes Saturday in Tampa

We have not posted since last Stakes Saturday due to technical difficulties.

Today we look at a great Turf race in that other city by the bay.

Tampa Bay Downs {Florida Oaks~G3~1 1/16 mile~TURF~3 year-old~Fillies~Graded Stakes}

A talented group of thirteen fillies will hit the grass in this annual event. There is some speed signed on to maintain an honest pace. Speed numbers are relatively close making for a competitive Turf contest. It should be a terrific race.

#4 Ava's Kitten ( I Ortiz / C. Brown) should pull off the victory with the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three hearty workouts. She is coming off a modest layoff and should fire fresh. A daughter of the great Turf sire, Kitten's Joy, she should be forwardly placed able to get first jump on the leader going into the stretch.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE.

#13 Baciami Princess [GB] (Leparoux / Lynch) will be making her first North American start after competing very well in France and Italy. Prior to a lengthy layoff, she was working a two race progression. She has put in three superb workouts prepping for this race. A daughter of Equiano [FR], she should be tracking the pace closely.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#6 Family Meeting (B. Pedroza / Proctor) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number and four supreme workouts. She has already scored a win at this distance. A daughter of Sky Mesa, with a solid pace she should be closing vigorously.

#10 Gambles Ghost (J. Velazquez / J. Carroll) should contend with the fourth highest last out speed number and four excellent peaking workouts. Coming off a modest layoff she will be returning to the turf from her last start. This gal is 100% in the money from four starts. A daughter of Ghostzapper, she should track the pace.
