A BIG derby Prep in South Florida

On this Stakes Saturday we look in on another Big Kentucky Derby prep in South Florida.

Gulfstream Park R14 {Xpress Bet Florida Derby~G1~1 1/8 mile~3 year-old~Graded Stakes}

A very exceptionally talented field of eleven will go to the gate in this classic Derby prep. Many Kentucky Derby winners have exited this race in the last decade. This year's crop has that same aspiration. There is enough speed in this one to keep a swift pace. Speed numbers are fairly close among the main principals. It should be a fantastic race.

#4 Bourbon War (I. Ortiz / Hennig) is the only horse to have already competed at this distance. He holds the third highest last out speed number and two hearty workouts. This boy has already hit the board twice over the Gulfstream track. A son of Tapit, he should be tracking and closing earnestly.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#1 Hidden Scroll (Castellano / Mott) will try to wire this field. He is a speedy type who posts the highest speed number overall among this crew. This guy will be making his third career start coming in with two fine workouts. A son of Hard Spun, he has already posted a win over this track.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#9 Code of Honor  (J. Velazquez / McGaughey) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number and two bullet workouts. This lad is 75% in the money from four starts. A son of Noble Mission [GB], he should be tracking the pace closely ready to spring into the stretch.
$1 SHOW.

#2 Current (M. Franco / Pletcher) could be considered a turfer as he makes his second try on dirt. He continues to show improvement with every race and has put in four solid workouts prepping for this race. A son of the superstar, Curlin, he is 66% in the money from six starts.

10 CENT Superfecta

#4 Bourbon War  /  #1 Hidden Scroll  /  #9 Code of Honor,  #2 Current  /  ALL.

Last Superfecta Sunday (3/24) results.

Our Bronze Horseshoe selection, Cutting Humor, won (1st) for show money of $2.40.
Bankroll picks up four dimes to settle at $72.46.
