Stakes Saturday near the Bay

This Stakes Saturday has three quality Kentucky Derby preps. We will examine the one in Florida.

Tampa Bay Downs Race 11 {Lambholm South TAMPA BAY DERBY~G2~1 1/16 mile~3 year-olds~Graded Stakes}

A terrific field of eleven will go to the gate with Derby points on the line. The winner could find himself with a gate in KD 145.  There is enough speed to keep the pace churning. Speed numbers are fairly close giving the race a nice competitive feel. It should be the most exciting race of the day.

#7 Win Win Win (I. Ortiz / Trombetta) could pull this one off with the highest last out speed number and four smoking, peaking workouts. This guy will be stretching out for the distance having secured a victory in his last over this track. A son of Hat Trick [JPN], he should track the pace closely and kick it into the strectch.
$1 WIN  /  $2 PLACE  /  $3 SHOW.

#5 Well Defined (Morales / O'Connell) should challenge with the second highest last out speed number at this distance and one quality workout. He also has a win over this track. This lad should show speed from the outset. A son of With Distinction, he continues to show improvement with each race.
$1 PLACE  /  $2 SHOW.

#6 Outshine (Rosario / Pletcher) should contend with a good speed number from a winning effort last out. He has put in two hearty workouts readying for this race. This guy will be stretching out and tackling the Tampa Bay track for the first time. A son of Malibu Moon, he should be part of the tracking crew positioning for the stretch run.
$1 SHOW.

#2 Sir Winston (Leparoux / M. Casse) should be in the mix with the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer route and three power peaking workouts. This lad is 100% in the money at this distance from three starts. A son of Awesome Again, he should be tracking close to the pace for a chance at first run on the leaders.
