Stakes Saturday on New York Turf

Another sensational Saturday and we take a look at a grade one Turf contest.

Belmont Park Race 9 {Man O' War~G1~1 3/8 mile~inner TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A great field of eight will hit the grass in this annual affair.  There is enough speed and forwardly placed types to keep the pace earnest.  This is another race in which any one of these talented fellas can eek out a victory.  It should be one of the better races before the New York crowd moves up to "The Spa" for the rest of the summer.

#6 Boisterous (J. Velazquez / McGaughey) looks to have an edge with his 100% in the money record at this distance in four starts.  He holds the third highest last out speed number and has put in three tremendous workouts.  This guy should track the pace and rock in the stretch.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#2 Speaking of Which [IRE] (Lezcano / Clement) could launch a surprising challenge with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a three race progression, and two diligent workouts.  Should he step-up to the level of his euro races he could be dangerous.  Expect him to also track the pace closely ready to roll.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#8 Exclusive Strike (I. Ortiz / Servis) is a consistent sort coming off a brief layoff.  He holds the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and one solid workout.  This guy is 71% in the money in thirty-four starts.  He is quite capable at tracking and closing swiftly.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#1 Optimizer (Rosario / Lukas) could go off as the favorite with the highest last out speed number, a five race progression, and three superb workouts. Incredibly, he has been running races since January 2012 without a break.  His versatile running style should benefit him greatly.

#7 Al Khali (Alvarado / Mott) is another venerable turfer holding the second highest speed number at the distance.  His last out speed number, at a longer route, was o.k. and has been coupled with three hearty workouts.  This guy will contend with the other tracker/closers heading for home.

10 CENT Superfecta

#6 Boisterous / #2 Speaking of Which [IRE] / #8 Exclusive Strike / #1 Optimizer, #7 Al Khali.
