From the Atlantic to the Pacific

Thank goodness it is Friday.  Today we look at a couple of sprints. One at Calder and another at Del Mar.

Calder Race 9 {6 furlongs~3 year old Up~fillies/mares~Allowance}
A nice group of eight gals line up for this allowance feature.  Gator Brew (M. Cruz / White) seems to have a slight edge coming off a route and putting in four superb, peaking workouts.  Omega Girl (Perez / Mareina) will challenge with the highest speed number at the distance and three strong workouts.  Also challenging will be Trippindownthehiway (Santiago / Dwoskin) with the second highest last out speed number and one solid workout.  In the mix will be Kairos (Jurado / Ritvo) coming off a mile route with the third highest last out speed number.  In the hunt for a piece of the purse pie will be Seattle Zip (Olivero / Gioffi) with the second highest surface speed number and one bullet workout.  Let's play Calder.

Del Mar Race 7 {Sorrento~G3~6 1/2 furlongs~2 year old~Stakes}
A great group of seven fillies go to the gate for this annual race.  It will be a very close race as all are equally matched.  Final Mesa (Rosario / Ward) will be going for her fourth straight win with the highest speed number over a synthetic track and three robust workouts.  A Z Warrior (M. Garcia / Baffert) looks like she could pull off the victory with a very nice win in her debut and two athletic workouts.  Izshelegal (Espinoza / Knight) looks good with the fourth highest overall speed number and two stout workouts.  Dawnie Macho (Talamo / Sadler) will be attempting to grab her third win in a row with the third highest last out speed number and two hardy workouts.  Belleofthebridle (Flores / Solis) looks ready to run a good race with a 100% in the money record on the synthetic surface and two hearty workouts.  Let's play Del Mar.

Del Mar Race 7.  Our first pick, Bradium, finished 5th.  Our second pick, Mallinson Road [NZ], finished 7th.  Superfecta went 6-3-4-2.
