Think Churchill Turf

For the conclusion of our horse racing weekend we look at a highly competitive Turf allowance race at Churchill Downs.  Let's do a Fathers Day sun dance to keep the thunderstorm's away.

Churchill Downs Race 9 {1 1/16 mile~Turf~3 year old Up~Allowance}
We hope this one stay's on the Turf.  There is a field of twelve competitive lads looking to make the start.  Some solid speed, a contingent of pressers / trackers and a few closers will make this race as exciting as possible.  It will be a handicapping challenge where any one in this field can make his way to the winners circle.

#2 Sporty (Borel / Nafzger) looks primed coming off a short layoff.  He has the highest last out speed number coming from a marathon route, a three race progression, and three stout workouts.  He should be closing swiftly into a strong pace.
$2 SHOW.

#7 Medal Round (Lanerie / Asmussen) looks fresh and ready coming off a long layoff.  He holds the fourth highest last out speed number (prior to the layoff), had a two race progression going, and has put in four stellar, peaking workouts.  He will make his first Turf start and could close well.
$2 SHOW.

#12 Fomaggio (Bridgmohan / D. Carroll) looks ready to strike at the top of the stretch with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and two athletic workouts.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#1 Plutonium (J. Lopez / Pate) will join the front runners and forwardly placed to amp up the speed of this race.  He holds a couple of nice last out speed numbers and one favourable workout.  He could hold on for a piece.

#6 Joes Blazing Aaron (Castanon / Maker) is another speedster who will be ready to hold on for a piece of the purse pie.  He holds the second highest speed number (tie) at the distance and has put in a good workout.  He is another that could be in the mix.

10 CENT Superfecta

#2 Sporty / #7 Medal Round / #12 Formaggio / #1 Plutonium, #6 Joe's Blazing Aaron.
