PA Derby Day

It's Stakes Saturday and we turn to look at the One Million dollar Pennsylvania Derby at Parx.  A great race on a great day.

PARX Race 11 {Pennsylvania Derby~G2~1 1/8 mile~3 year old~Stakes}
A fierce group of nine competitors are expected to line up for this Fall classic.  All have near equal ability and there will be some surprises.  A terrific race should unfold.

#7 To Honor and Serve (Lezcano / Mott) appears to have a very slight edge with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two premium workouts.  He can be expected to sit just off the pace ready for launch in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#1 Ruler On Ice (Gomez / Breen) will make a aggressive challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two robust, peaking workouts.  He could press or track the pace readying for a first strike in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#3 Pender Harbour [CAN] (Contreras / Depaulo) could be one of the big surprises with a couple of decent last out speed numbers over different surfaces and the best workout tab of four superb, peaking workouts.  He could close well into a swift pace.
$2 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#9 Rattlesnake Bridge (J. Velazquez / McLaughlin) is another that will mount a mighty challenge with the second highest last out speed number,  a three race progression, and two hearty workouts.  He could close well on the leaders.
