Saratoga Youngsters

Starting off our horse racing weekend we look to the youngsters, perhaps some future stars, in a great stakes race at wonderful Saratoga.

Saratoga Race 9 {With Anticipation~G2~1 1/16 mile~Turf~2 year old~Stakes}
A talented field of nine are scheduled to make the start.  All are still developing a successful running style.  Most have covered this distance with the exception of two which will be stretching out to a route.  This should be a very competitive race.

#5 Splendiferous (Bridgmohan / Margolis) might have a slight edge with the highest last out speed number at this distance in his only start and has put in one strong workout.  With a solid pace to run at he could close this field down.
$1 WIN / SHOW.

#1 Captain Webb (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) should be one of the chief challengers with the third highest last out speed number in his only start and has put in two good workouts.  He looks to press the pace in order to get first jump in the stretch.
$1 PLACE / SHOW.

#6 State of Play (Dominguez / Motion) will be stretching out to a route from a decent last out sprint speed number and prepped with three endurance workouts.  He could also find himself forwardly place ready to pounce.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#4 Dullahan (Desormeaux / Romans) will also be a contender with the second highest last out speed number competing at this distance, a three race progression, and one solid workout.  He could track the pace ready to strike.
