Dandy Stakes Saturday

The splendor of Saratoga calls.  We look at a prelude to the "Summer Derby".

Saratoga Race 10 {Jim Dandy~G2~1 1/8 mile~3 year old~Stakes}
A very well spotted field of ten will vie in this competitive running of the preview race of next month's Travers.  There is sufficient speed in here to keep the trackers and closers in contention.  Most have taken a brief amount of time off from their big spring races to freshen up a bit before launching into a summer/fall campaign.  This should be one of the best races of the summer.

#2 Code West (Rosario / Baffert) appears ready to take another step forward with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a four race progression, and four supreme peaking workouts.  This guy is 90% in the money in ten races.  Expect him to stay close to the pace and get first run on all others.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#5 Palice Malice (Smith / Pletcher) will challenge coming off his exciting Belmont win.  He holds the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and has put in four superb workouts.  He has already posted a victory at Saratoga and should track the pace closely ready to roll.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#8 Mylute (Napravnik / Amoss) should also contend with the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and three strengthening workouts.  He holds the second highest (tie) speed number at the distance.  Expect him to track the pace ready to take advantage should a fierce pace develop.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#10 Vyjack (J. Velazquez / Rodriguez) should be in the mix as he enters into a distance that can be considered in his wheelhouse with an o.k. last out speed number, a two race progression, and two exceptional bullet workouts.  After a freshening he should be able to stay close to the pace and make an early strike.

#9 Looking Cool (Prado / Nafzger) could surprise as the connections of the great Street Sense always spot their charges well.  This guy sports the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two diligent workouts.

#2 Code West / #5 Palace Malice / #8 Mylute / #10 Vyjack, #9 Looking Cool.
