Let's Go Long on Thursday

Today we take a look at a classic distance race where the "Surf meets the Turf".

Del Mar Race 7 {Cougar II Handicap~G3~1 1/2 mile~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A superb field of ten will line up for this feature graded stakes race.  Enough speed will keep the crew rolling along.  Only four in the field have gone this distance.  The rest appear ready to take up the challenge.  It should be a mighty fine race.

#5 Kettle Corn (Bejarano / Sadler) should have the edge with the highest last out speed number in a grade one event, a two race progression, and two hearty peaking workouts.  He should be closing swiftly in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#6 Sky Kingdom (M. Garcia / Baffert) will be one of several challengers with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two swift workouts.  He has perhaps the most versatile running style which should benefit him well in this longer route.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#3 Oilisblackgold (Maldonado / Dollase) will contend with the third highest last out speed number and two strong peaking workouts.  He could find himself up close tracking the pace ready to swoop into the stretch.

#10 Rousing Sermon (Nakatani / Hollendorfer) should be in the mix with the fourth highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four tremendous workouts.  He is another that could be running late.

#7 Richard's Kid (Talamo / O'Neill) will be in the hunt with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and three super efficient workouts.  He could be fierce in the closing strides of the stretch.
