Summer Stakes Saturday TURF

Summer is in full swing after a delightful Independence Day.  On this Stakes Saturday we turn to a excellent Turf race along the beautiful Jersey shore.

Monmouth Park Race 11 {United Nations~G1~1 3/8 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A very talented field of eight will venture onto the Turf for this annual grade one.  There is enough speed in here to make the pace tremendously hot.  The entrants who relish coming from off the pace have the edge.  This will be an exceptional running of the UN.

#1 Wilcox Inn (Graham / Stidham) has a pace advantage as he is quite capable of tracking and closing well.  He holds the second highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and four superb, peaking workouts.  This handsome lad will be stretching out from his last start and should race with aplomb.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#5 Skyring (Stevens / Lukas) should challenge with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and four serious peaking workouts.  He should be forwardly placed ready to hold on in the stretch.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#6 Harrods Creek (Trujillo / Mott) should also challenge with his versatile running style.  He holds the third highest (tie) last out speed number coming off a longer route and has put in four fantastic peaking workouts.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 Big Blue Kitten (Bravo / C. Brown) should enter the fray sharing the third highest last out speed number, working a three race progression and putting in two rewarding workouts.  This highly regarded horse has only been off the board in his career over fifteen starts.  He could take it to the field with his tracking / closing capability.

#7 Little Mike (Rosario / Romans) should be in the mix as the speedster in the front end.  After a very disappointing foray in Dubai, UAE, he is working hard toward a triumphant return to the states having put in four robust workouts.  This guy holds the highest speed number over the surface and loves the Monmouth course with two victories over it in two starts.  Should be the favorite, but may need a start.

#1 Wilcox Inn / #5 Skyring / #6 Harrods Creek / #2 Big Blue Kitten, #7 Little Mike.
