A Great Horse Racing Weekend Begins

Thursday marks the beginning of a great horse racing weekend.  With a bevy of primo races on Saturday that include the Dubai World Cup races, the Louisiana Derby, and the Florida Derby.  All of which have high quality undercards.

Today we look at a terrific Turf contest at sunny Santa Anita.

Santa Anita Park Race {1 mile~Turf~3 year old Up~CA~Optional Claiming}
An interesting group of eight will hoof it over the Turf.  All are coming into this one with freshenings.  The speed numbers are relatively comparable over the surface and at the distance.  The race comes a little light on speed though there are a few that should be forwardly placed.  It should be a good race to wager and watch.

#2 Awesome Prospect (Couton / Powell) could have a slight edge with the highest (4-way tie) last out speed number, a three race progression, and three stellar workouts.  He has the tactical speed to stay close and then romp in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#5 Lucky Views (Espinoza / Machowsky) will challenge sharing the highest last out speed number, working a two race progression, and putting in three superb workouts.  This lad should be motoring on the front end seeking to hold off all others.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interest

#1 Christopher Street (Smith / Sadler) should contend also with the highest last out speed number, a four race progression, and two hearty workouts.  With a hot pace this guy is capable of closing down the field.

#6 Depraptor (Blanc / Puype) is coming into this race after an extended layoff.  He could surprise.  Prior to the layoff he shows the fourth highest last out speed number and has put in four exceptionally good peaking workouts.  He appears ready to run well.

10 CENT Superfecta

#2 Awesome Prospect  /  #5 Lucky Views  /  #1 Christopher Street  /  #6 Deraptor.

Last Superfecta Sunday (3/23) Results
Sunland Park R11.  Sunland Derby--G3.  We had to abandon our 10 CENT Superfecta box play due to the fact that there was none for this race. Superfecta went 9-7-3-8.
Our Bronze Horseshoe runner, Commissioner, finished 3rd for show money of $3.00.
Bankroll gains a buck to settle at $5.89.
