Furlong Friday in Maryland

Thank goodness its Furlong Friday. We take in a nice six furlong maiden contest at venerable Pimlico.

Pimlico Race 1 {6 furlongs~3 year-old Up~fillies / mares~Maiden Claiming}
A good group of eight will go to the gate in the first race on todays card. There is some speed to keep the pace humming. Several are still attempting to break through while there are a couple making their first appearance. it should kick off a great day of racing.

#5 Nina Belle (Navarro / Brooks) is a first time starter that could get the job done at first asking. She has put in four serious workouts in preparation for her first start. Her connections are solid.

Other Wagering Interests

#4 My Little Dipper (Hole / Corrales) will challenge with the second highest last out speed number and a three race progression. She should track the pace ready to strike. This gal has hit the board 50% of her six starts. This could be the one that she breaks her maiden.

#6 Cotton Letters (Y. Ortiz / Bernardini) should contend with the highest last out speed number and a two race progression. She is 66% in the money from nine starts. She could wire this field motoring on the front end.

#1 Keys Garboy (Evans / Mitchell) could be in the mix with a solid last out speed number and good fourth place finish in her first start. She has put in one sound workout. This gal should be tracking the pace ready to romp.

Thursdays Results
Oaklawn Park R8.  Count Fleet Sprint Handicap.  Our first pick, Ivan Fallunovalot, finished 2nd for show money of $3.40. Our second pick, Alsvid, won (1st) for show money of $4.60.
Superfecta went 8-6-3-1.
Bankroll gets a nice pop to $15.95.
