Horse Racing Weekend Begins

Our horse racing weekend begins with a fabulous downhill Turf race at lovely Santa Anita.

Santa Anita Park Race 7 {6 1/2 furlongs~downhill TURF~4 year old Up~fillies/mares~Optional Claiming}
A very nice group of nine Turf gals will make the start in this race.  Limited speed should make it very interesting to see who takes charge of the race.  The vast majority of the runners have comparable speed numbers over this downhill course.  A good race to start our horse racing weekend.

#3 Best Present Ever (Bejarano / Kruljac) has a slight edge with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and one solid workout.  She could be forwardly placed for this one that lacks certain speed.
$2 SHOW.

#6 Jet Blue Girl (Leparoux / West) should challenge with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, the second highest (tie) speed number over the downhill course, and four superb peaking workouts.  This gal can be expected to be forwardly placed.
$2 SHOW.

#7 Schiaparelli (Talamo / Puype) should be in contention sharing the second highest speed number over the downhill course, coming out of a stakes race with two speedy peaking workouts.  She is another that could be in the front pack seeking an advantage.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#2 There Is No Limit (Krigger / O'Neill) will be in the mix with the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two fierce workouts.  She could surprise these gals should the pace heat up a little.

#8 Esentepe [IRE] (Nakatani / Hollendorfer) should be in the hunt making her first North American start after an extended layoff.  She raced well in Ireland and Britain notching a 68% in the money record.  This filly did very well earlier in her career sprinting.  Her routes were not as good, but she did face formidable competition.  This daughter of Oratorio [IRE] will be one to watch as she races over the green in the states.
