Superfecta Sunday Sunland Style

On this Superfecta Sunday, we find ourselves back on the derby trail in grand old New Mexico.

Sunland Park Race 11 {Sunland Derby~G3~1 1/8 mile~3 year olds~Stakes}
An interesting crop of nine will enter into the gate.  All will be seeking KD 139 points.  Only one has gone this distance.  The entire group are Triple Crown nominated, except one.  Most in here like to be forwardly placed which could give a clear shot for one utilizing a nice closing style.  It appears most are comparable in terms of speed numbers making it a bit difficult to put together our 10 CENT Superfecta box ticket.  Let's give a sunny New Mexico try.

#4 Shakin It Up (D. Flores / Baffert) looks likely to capitalize on a fluid pace with his closing style.  He holds the second highest last out speed number and has put in four superb peaking workouts.  This guy represents our Bronze Horseshoe runner.
$2 SHOW.

#6 Dry Summer (Madeira / Marr) will mount a challenge with the fourth highest last out speed number and two hearty workouts.  He has the ability to press or track the pace which should benefit him.

#2 Abraham (J. Velazquez / Pletcher) ships in from Florida in the third start of his career.  He is the only one in the field that has gone this distance.  This colt scored a victory in his last out which happened to be at this distance.  Having put in three excellent workouts, he looks to be motoring on the front end.

#7 Govenor Charlie (M. Garcia / Baffert) should be in the mix with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four superlative, peaking workouts.  He could be forwardly placed ready to strike at the top of the stretch.

10 CENT Superfecta Box ($2.40)

#4 Shakin It Up  +  #6 Dry Summer  +  #2 Abraham  +  #7 Govenor Charlie.
