Stakes Saturday at Keeneland

We roll into Stakes Saturday to take a look at a terrific graded stakes route at Keeneland.

Keeneland Race 9 [Fayette~G2~1 1/8 mile~3 year old Up~Stakes}
A great group of nine will take to the polytrack in this feature graded stakes race.  There is enough speed in her to keep the pace honest.  Interestingly, only four have raced over the Keeneland poly.  All have comparable speed numbers which should make this a smashing contest.

#7 Wilcox Inn (Graham / Stidham) looks primed to take on this talented field with the highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two serious peaking workouts.  This son of Harlan's Holiday likes to come from off the pace and takes nicely to synthetic surfaces.  Everything may go his way.
$1 WIN / $2 PLACE / $3 SHOW.

#4 Nikki's Sandcastle (Goncalves / Kassen) should challenge with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, the highest speed number at the distance, a two race progression, and four fierce peaking workouts.  This handsome son of Castiedale [IRE] should track the pace closely over a surface he relishes.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#3 Set the Sail (Bridgmohan / Lopresti) will contend with a couple of decent last out speed numbers, a two race progression, and three superb workouts.  He appears to be a turf specialist, but his works over the Keeneland poly have been very good.  A son of Mizzen Mast, he has supreme tactical speed that will allow him to stay close as the pace develops.
$1 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#8 Lea (Hernandez / Stall) appears ready to put his versatile running style to good use with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three hearty workouts.  A son of First Samurai, he should get this distance well.  Additionally, he has the best overall in the money record, posting 88% in nine starts.

#1 Villandry (Castanon / Lopresti) should be in the mix with the fourth highest last out speed number and two efficient workouts.  This guy enjoys the poly surface and should be charging hard in the stretch.

#7 Wilcox Inn / #4 Nikki's Sandcastle / #3 Set the Sail / #8 Lea, #1 Villandry.
