Horse Racing Weekend begins at Belmont

Thursday already?!  We go to the Turf at bountiful Belmont.

Belmont Park Race 9 {Basket Weave Stakes~1 1/16 mile~inner TURF~3 year old~Stakes}
A great field of nine will go to the green in this feature stakes event.  There is plenty of speed and forwardly placed types to keep the pace sizzling. This race could be anybody's race.  It appears there will be a pack of runners biding their time until turn into the stretch making for a very exciting finish.

#4 North Slope (Saez / McLaughlin) has a slight edge with the highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and three hearty workouts.  This guy also holds the highest speed number at the distance.  He could press or track the pace and swoop into the stretch for the victory.
$1 WIN / $1 SHOW.

#3 Calm Pacific (Castellano / C. Brown) will challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three modest workouts.  He should also take advantage of any heated pace.  This guy is also undefeated in two starts.
$1 SHOW.

#6 Joha (Maragh / Albertrani) should also contend with the second highest (tie) last out speed number at a longer route, a two race progression, and two strong workouts.  He could be part of the front running speed pack.
$1 SHOW.

Another Wagering Interest

#8 Dysprosium (Lezcano / Mott) will be in the hunt sharing the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and three superb peaking workouts.  This guy could lead the charge and if left loose could find himself in the winners circle.
