Furlong Friday at Hawthorne, Episode 2

Thank goodness it's Furlong Friday and once again we venture to Hawthorne for some good horse racing.

Hawthorne Race 4 {6 1/2 furlongs~3 year old Up~Claiming}
A decent group of ten horses will go to the gate in this low level claiming race.  It comes up a little light on speed, but there are a few that like being forwardly placed.  While the speed numbers are considerably lighter than the usual races we look at, all of these guys last raced here in Illinois at either Fairmount Park or Arlington Park.  The race should be an enjoyable one.

#7 Lavender Chris (Contreras / Catalano) is coming off a maiden win at Arlington Park with the highest last out speed number at a longer route, a three race progression, and three peaky workouts.  He should be forwardly placed ready to rock.
$2 SHOW.

#3 Perfect Wisdom (Rose / Lewellyn) could challenge with the third highest last out speed number and one peaking workout.  This guy holds the highest speed number at the distance as well as the highest speed number over the Hawthorne track.  He too should be forwardly placed.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#10 Bitter Truth (Lopez / Wilborn) is coming up from Fairmount Park where he last ran in an allowance race at a shorter distance.  He has posted a couple of decent last out speed numbers when compared to this field, is working a two race progression, and has put in three strong preparatory workouts for this event.

#8 C. C. Banjo (Thornton / Scherbenske) was last seen at Arlington Park in a slightly longer sprint.  He holds the second highest speed number over the Hawthorne course and has put in one efficient workout.  With the right pace he should be closing swiftly.
