Stakes Saturday Turf Mile

Another exciting Stakes Saturday rolls in.  Today we look at an exciting grade one TURF mile at magnificent Keeneland.

Keeneland Race 9 {Shadwell TURF mile~G1~1 mile~TURF~3 year old Up~Stakes}
An amazing group of ten of the best mile TURFers from around the country converge on the Keeneland course in this annual contest.  There is plenty of speedsters and forwardly placed types to keep the pace sizzling.  Three of todays runners are millionaires which is indicative of the class in the race.  It should be a fantastic race.

#10 Wise Dan (J. Velazquez / Lopresti) is the morning line favorite and will be very tough to beat.  He holds the highest last out speed number and has put in one diligent workout.  This guy has a 90% win rate at this distance in ten starts.  The son of Wiseman's Ferry should be sitting right off the leaders looking to make his run coming down the stretch.
$1 WIN

#8 Coalport (Hill / Catalano) could challenge with the third highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and two superb peaking workouts.  This son of Kitten's Joy should be tracking the pace and rush into the fray coming out of the turn.  Coming out of win at Kentucky Downs, he has done well at Keeneland in his two career starts there.
$1 PLACE / $2 SHOW.

#6 Wilcox Inn (Graham / Stidham) should be in the mix with the fourth highest last out speed number at a longer route over the Arlington Park Turf and three dynamite workouts. He too has done favorably over the Keeneland course.  This son of Harlan's Holiday will be tracking the pace at a distance he cherishes.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#9 Silver Max (Albarado / Romans) should contend mightly as one of the speedsters on the front end.  He holds the second highest last out speed number at a longer route and has put in three robust peaking workouts.  This son of Badge of Silver is impressive over the Turf and at the distance.  This guy is one of the millionaires in the race.

#2 Turallure (Leparoux / Lopresti) is another one of the millionaire runners with the second highest speed number at the distance.  He has a couple of decent last out speed numbers coupled with three strong peaking workouts.  A son of Wando, he will be closing very swiftly.
