Furlong Friday, Downhill Turf

We open up the first Friday of the New Year by examining a downhill Turf contest at magnificent Santa Anita.

Santa Anita Race 7 {6 1/2 furlongs~downhill TURF~4 year old Up~fillies/ mares~Optional Claiming}
Nine lovely ladies will exit the downhill chute in this afternoon feature at warm and friendly Santa Anita.  There is plenty of speed which may assist those coming from off the pace.  The speed numbers appear to be comparable.  It should be an exciting race.

#6 Miss Lucky Sevens (Bejarano / Gallagher) might have the edge with the second highest last out speed number, a three race progression, and three superb peaking workouts.  This gal should be close to the pace and make her move going into the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

#9 Blues and Silvers (Stevens / Puype) will challenge with the highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and four strong peaking workouts.  She could be part of the front running group able to stay on.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#3 Llandudno (M. Garcia / Sadler) should be in the hunt with a couple of decent last out speed numbers and two sensational bullet workouts.  She is primed and ready to tackle this group from a tracking position.

#8 Silver Hustler (T. Baze / Kruljac) could surprise with the fourth highest last out speed number at a route, a two race progression, and two sincere, peaking workouts.  She is another that could benefit from a hot pace with her tracking/closing running style.
