Santa Anita Starts Our Horse Racing Weekend

We take a look at a decent Maiden Special Weight race at lovely Santa Anita.

Santa Anita Race 6 {1 mile~3 year old~Maiden Special Weight}
A savvy group of ten will make the start in this maiden feature.  It comes a little light on speed, but most of these fellas are still developing as racers.  It should be a fabulous race.

#7 Snuggley Bear (Bejarano / Canani) is the most experienced of the group holding the second highest last out speed number, a two race progression, and two robust workouts. In six starts he has finished in the money in five of them.  He could stay close to the pace to pull off the win.
$2 SHOW.

#1 Day of Fury (Smith / Baffert) should challenge with a decent speed number for his first time out at a longer route.  He has put in three superb peaking workouts in preparation.  As a son of the great Street Sense, he could show a strong kick in the stretch.
$2 SHOW.

Other Wagering Interests

#10 Icy Ride (Nakatani / Baffert) could contend with the third highest last out speed number at a longer route and three solid peaking workouts.  He could be tracking and closing into a decent pace.

#3 Como Mi Padre (Espinoza / Heap) will making his first start with four primo workouts under his saddle.  This guy could show the most promise of the first time starters.

#8 Rident (Talamo / Hofmans) is another first time starter that could do well at first asking.  He has put in five furious, peaking workouts in prepping for his first start.
